Anger accepted in men but women who ‘lose it’ seen as less competent

People Accept Anger In Men, But Women Who Lose Their Temper Are Seen As Less Competent, Study Shows

Angry men deserved more status, a higher salary, and were expected to be better at the job than angry women according to the research cited in the above article.

It seems that men relate more to vulnerability than power or anger in women. But the article seems to say that women are deemed not just less feminine but less competent when they become angry at least in a work environment.

It may be that women are expected to display emotion at home but are frowned upon for doing so publically and maybe it’s the opposite for men who are supposed to ‘keep a lid’ on things domestically but rewarded? for venting professionally-see Men, women and emotions - or why he never tells you how he’s feeling!
