looking forward to good memories

The solution focused approach we teach on the uncommon knowledge hypnotherapy diploma teaches hypnotherapy students to help people who are negatively ruminating about past events (or properly traumatized by them) to feel differently about the past so it stops intruding on the present and determining the future.

Uncommon therapists also teach people to look forward to future events without anxiety. Looking forward to something can be a bigger mood booster than reminiscing about a good past time according to the research presented in this article

When the ailing and aged Milton Erickson was asked what the secret of his continuing positivity was he replied: ‘Always having something to look forward to. And no matter who you are you can always find something.’
