Recovering after second Hypnotherapy Diploma weekend

Hi, well here I am on Monday afternoon after a packed weekend of teaching and excercises on the uncommon knowledge diploma course I really enjoyed teaching and demonstrating how to deal with so called resistant clients and I always like the smoking section. It’s amazing how many hypnotic metaphors you can use when treating smokers.  I have to confess even after all these years I still enjoy treating smokers and seeing their lives improve so dramatically as a result of quitting.

Jill’s section on metaphor was even more ‘up-dated’ than last year and I think the students got some real pointers (as well as practice) on how to use metaphor ‘in action’ with clients in therapy. Jill covered the fundemental nature of metaphor in all our lives and also more specifically why and how to use storytelling.

We also covered things like effective goal setting in therapy, the hypnotic nature of addictions and the use of scaling in therapy thanks to Donna Peters a great Uncommon Knowledge therapist and trainer.

The next weekend module is coming up in four weeks. We’ll be covering anxiety and teaching the famous Rewind technique to enable our students to sucessfully treat post traumatic stress disorder and of course phobias. I’ll keep you updated as to how it goes as the students start to gear up to seeing their first ‘real clients’ in a couple of months time.
