Smoking, resistance, memory, metaphors and such

Well this last weekend saw the second 2008 module on the Uncommon Knowledge hypnotherapy and psychotherapy training diploma course .

We had fun teaching the ‘My friend John technique’ a wonderful hypnotic induction and elegant way to bypass the resistance of some clients. We taught the principles of addiction and how to use metaphor and hypnotic techniques to lift smoking. Jill covered how to work sensibly and safely with memory and our uncommon knowledge students got the chance to construct metaphorical stories around client problems (see the history of storytelling)

There really is a great atmosphere, all the students are really keen and positive and are looking forward to learning more
